The welcome is lovely, and it’s a proper old country pub. We’ve had several Sunday lunches here over the past few months, all with smashing home-cooked food. I’d happily recommend it.

The fish and chips were among the best I’ve ever eaten. This pub has loads of character, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We had an excellent meal.

We stopped for lunch while walking across the long mynd, and a seat by the fire plus a really good mocha warmed us up. We all chose omelettes for a lighter meal before carrying on with the walk. It’s a beautiful old pub in the heart of Shropshire, with lovely food and friendly service. Dogs and children are very welcome.
