The food was exceptional and well priced, and breakfast was really good. There’s ample parking and good WiFi. The two girls who greeted me were fantastic, helpful and professional, and I felt welcome straight away. My room was excellent, with a large, comfortable bed and great bedding, although the people above were noisy. All in all, a very pleasant stay, and I’d go back if I get the chance.

The Christmas party nights are great fun, and the smaller venue gives them a personal, almost family-party feel. By the end, most tables were dancing together. The casino at the start was a fun icebreaker, the compère got everyone warmed up, and The Harper Brothers were excellent. The food was wonderful, and they handled our group’s vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free diets without any problems. The downside was that £50 per person didn’t include dessert, coffee or a mince pie. Some people were already dancing and didn’t mind, but others would’ve liked something sweet and a coffee while chatting with colleagues. I’ve been to two of these parties and enjoyed both. I stayed one night in a clean, spacious triple/family room on the top floor, which made it easy to attend without going outside. There’s no lift and quite a lot of stairs, so that room wouldn’t work for someone with mobility issues. I’m not sure about access elsewhere in the hotel. We’ll definitely look at booking again next year.

The views were beautiful, the staff were lovely, and the food was delicious. Room service to my shepherds hut arrived bang on time, and the hut had everything I needed. It was amazing, and I’d definitely stay here again.

The setting at Grains Bar Hotel is breathtaking, with incredible views and a peaceful, natural feel. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived, and went above and beyond to make me feel at home. The WiFi was free throughout, super-fast and completely reliable, handy for emails and streaming in the evenings. The chef deserves a special mention. Every meal was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious, real restaurant-quality food. With the service, food, surroundings and modern comforts, it’s amazing value for money. Whether you’re there for business, a getaway or a special occasion, this place is a gem. I’ll definitely return. Thank you 🙏🏻
