There’s a lot of choice at breakfast, and it was plentiful. Our room was large, and the bed was comfortable. The gardens were overgrown and a bit disordered, but so charming that you hardly minded. We enjoyed an evening walk to a local restaurant, with a fabulous view from the bridge. The staff were friendly and helpful, and made us feel right at home. Jackie the owner was sweet and had an infectious smile. A wonderful place for a night.

The house and garden are beautiful, with fantastic views and a relaxed, friendly feel. I was travelling on my own for my first stay, but it still felt homely and sociable. The staff are lovely, breakfast is tasty, and I can’t fault the accommodation.

Such a relaxing spot for a quiet getaway. From the house gardens you can walk down to the river and cross the beautiful bridge into the tiny town, where there’s a tavern and a chocolate shop. The garden and summerhouse are lovely, and the old house is beautiful with red ivy covering it. It’s in a magical area, in Strathbogieshire in the Pitlochry area. The home-cooked breakfast was very nice, and the hostess was the sweetest.

You can hear the nearby river and birds, and there are lots of red squirrels and pheasants around, so take care driving up. It’s a peaceful, spacious place in a stunning location, with no telly but free WiFi. Inside and out, the house is beautiful and has a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were amazing and the food delicious. We stayed a few nights in October 2017 and will be back. The rooms and bathroom were a bit aged, but clean. They accept credit cards, and there’s a secure entrance with a code lock. We loved it.

A lovely Victorian house full of charm, a nice change from the usual sterile places. The new owners are very welcoming, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are a little dated, which is part of the appeal. Breakfast was great and worth the price. Try the pub on the Tay too: good food and drink, nice staff, and you can eat while watching the river go by.
