3 bed bungalow Waterloo by Pureserviced

I stayed at Piccadilly by PureServiced, Piccadilly room 4 at Gulland House. The location right next to the train station was excellent, and the room was nice and clean, with a separate shared kitchen and lounge. Reception check-in was between 3 and 8pm. In the morning the desk was unmanned, so I checked out by dropping the key in the letterbox. I assume someone is around if you book left luggage, but I didn't. It was a bit warm without air con, and the windows only opened a little, though there was a fan. The walls are thin and doors can bang if people let them, so bring earplugs. I disliked the flood of messages through Booking.com, email and WhatsApp, and the £50 security deposit PureServiced charges before arrival, which wasn't mentioned before booking.

During a June-22 visit of two nights in a heatwave, the building and room got very hot and there was no air conditioning. The Modern Double Room was tiny, with one side of the bed against a wall. The price was fair, and the station was just a short walk away. The communal kitchen had tea, coffee and biscuits. I wasn't sure whether the milk was provided, since someone had taken it into their room.

I was in Plymouth for a sad family funeral and wasn't sure exactly when I'd reach Gulland House because of the day's events. I explained that to the receptionist when booking and arrived at 7-45pm. The receptionist was expecting me and understood why I was there. The staff were very friendly, and once I got to my room, its beauty lifted my mood. It was spotless, had excellent facilities, and the property had recently been renovated to a very high standard. All the local amenities were close by. The accommodation made a sad day easier to bear, and the standards were excellent for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the accommodation and the staff. Thank you so much.

The location worked really well, with shops, parks and the train station all nearby. I stayed two days in a very good apartment, and the receptionist was warm and welcoming. The car park was about a three-minute drive away, then a five-minute walk to the house. I enjoyed my stay.
