There were problems on several fronts. Check-in was frustrating and difficult with no reception. The rooms look nice at first, but the facilities have issues: the oven didn’t work, it wasn’t clear how to turn on the heating, and the towel rail that should have been heated wasn’t. The basement apartment had a disgusting view of litter through the front windows, with no privacy through the back windows. The neighbourhood felt a bit unsafe, and a stranger knocked on my door at 5:45am. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The apartment was great overall. The harbour is around a 20-25 minute walk, so the location works well if you’re comfortable walking. The mattress might feel a bit soft for some backs.

I paid a £150 deposit for the room, then was told I couldn’t stay because I’m 18 and don’t meet the age rules. I’m now out more than £300, and they said I might have to pay a cancellation fee even though I didn’t cancel. The woman I called was rude, and just answered “okay” to each complaint. They should check the details before taking a deposit. Avoid this property.

The access codes are a real mess, timed down to the minute. At 10:03 I went back to take out the rubbish and couldn’t get into the apartment. Even the cleaning staff couldn’t get in. The apartment itself was beautiful, and they handled complaints within a few hours, even on the weekend, which was fantastic.

I was left out in the cold for hours because they didn’t give me the entry code. After charging me, they also said I had to pay extra for bringing a pet. I took screenshots of what they were doing, and booking through b&b meant I could complain. It felt like they were trying to scam me. Very bad experience, would not recommend.
