It was peaceful and very quiet, which was the one good thing about our two nights, 15th to 17th Aug. We weren’t impressed from the start. The owner wasn’t welcoming and seemed to find showing us around hard work. We were the only guests in the six pods, which seemed strange for mid August. The pods looked tired, some missing wood at the back, and the windows were very dirty with cobwebs everywhere. The decking was mucky, and the two chairs available were broken, with cigarette burns on one. Each pod was supposed to have a barbecue, but there was only a used, uncleaned fire pit. The paving slabs for them were broken and a trip hazard. The on-site BBQs were filthy too, so we were glad we’d brought our own. In the communal kitchen, a solid, mucky dishcloth had been left on the side, along with a dirty cup, and the sink was dirty. The toilets and showers were okay. Apparently no one had stayed in the pods that year, and we won’t be returning.
