My reply to your response, you crazy old little man: you sound completely delusional. I was not given three nights for free. I wasn’t even allowed to stay for the one night I paid for because you kicked me out. Now you’re ranting here, calling me names and making things up. Anyone reading this can see what sort of person you are, and why your guest house is such a disgrace. I had a family emergency and paid for one night, but you still wouldn’t let me stay. Call it what it is, taking money for nothing. You were arrogant and rude instead of showing basic decency. Your place is a dump, and your attitude fits. People should know what kind of “hospitality” they can expect.

I’d sooner sleep in a two-person tent by the motorway than deal with someone that rude again. When I called to ask whether my one-night booking could be changed because my plans had shifted, he wouldn’t let me explain and kept talking over me. Then he told me to stop butting in while I was still trying to say why I’d called. He shouted at me like I was a child because I said we’d book elsewhere if a change wasn’t possible. He cancelled the room and said I wouldn’t get my money back. Honestly, he can keep it, he needs it more than I do. With customer service like that, I’m surprised anyone stays. This place makes Faulty Towers look like the Ritz Carlton.

It’s a quiet place, and I slept really well in the super-comfy bed. My room was very large, with a gabled ceiling, and I had a wonderful five-night stay. I didn’t have breakfast because I’m a late starter when I’m away, and Peter was happy to accommodate that. Donna was cheerful and helpful, too. Peter even carried my heavy bag to the room when I arrived and back to the car when I left. A lovely Yorkshire spot near my family and friends. I’ll stay again.

Beautiful views and a quiet place to stop over. The building is over 200 years old. Clean bed, hot shower, free WiFi, and you can get a cooked breakfast. Lovely. X
