The stairs are quite a workout, so it may be worth booking a first-floor room. The place was tidy, freshly painted and renovated, with a warm welcome and a great breakfast. Staff were chatty, and the town-centre location has nearby pubs and places to eat. Despite that, it was surprisingly quiet after 11pm. There’s a public car park within 100 yards. We’ll stay again when we're in Poole.

The location is perfect, and the rooms are clean and nice. It feels a bit like living above a cafe, since the rooms are right over one. If you go, say hello to Mike. He’s a great cook and makes you feel at home :)

I had everything I needed in the lovely room, and breakfast was delicious. I ate outside in the sunshine. The gentleman who worked there was so friendly and chatty, and I also met the owner. Such lovely people. I’ll stay here again.

The location is good and the breakfast was very tasty. The lady working there was lovely, but my husband and I were still disappointed with our stay. There was nobody to greet us. We got a code for the main entrance and found an envelope on the counter with the code to our room. It’s no longer operating as a cafe, just a B&B. Several things in the room felt poorly maintained: the toilet seat slid around because it wasn't secure, the shower door wouldn't close all the way, and the shower seemed too small for a larger person. The curtain rod looked ready to fall on us, and the headboard was loose enough that we couldn't really lean against it. Then the ground-floor fire alarm beeped constantly from about 1:00 to 4:30 in the morning, making it very hard to sleep. We went down ourselves to try to switch it off, worried at the same time that something serious might be happening. We were told the place was in the middle of a change of ownership. It was unfortunate to feel that no one seemed to care about our stay while that was going on. At around €77 for the night, I don't think it was close to being worth the price.

A handy location and a great little room for one night. I'd suggest parking at Chapel Street Car park.
