Parkstone Guest House

The listing showed no sign of the arrangement we actually found, so calling this a family apartment was very misleading. It's a three-bedroom house with a family bathroom, but each bedroom has an individual Yale key lock. That means you can't leave a young child in one locked room while an adult stays in another. The bathroom has a simple toilet-style door lock that doesn't assure privacy. One double room is downstairs and also has a Yale lock. It opens onto a large, well-equipped kitchen, dining and sitting area, with patio doors leading to a garden that isn't secure. Strangers can book the other rooms. The kitchen is poorly equipped, and the lounge has only a dining table, four chairs and a sofa. There are no window coverings for privacy when the lights are on or to block the sun, so the room gets hot. It's on a main road. It might suit couples without children, but definitely not a family.

Poole town centre is about a 10-minute walk away, and the park is right opposite with plenty for families to do. Sandbanks is a 10-minute drive, so the location works well for a holiday. The place itself is excellent. Just a heads-up, the bed in the room on the right, room 2, is rock hard. If your back is bad, pick the other room.😄

A very nice guest house, with clean rooms and a really comfortable bed. It's well placed for visiting the local attractions around Poole.
