Blanco's Hotel Port Talbot

The food and staff were amazing, but I was very disappointed by the Lionel Richie tribute act on the 6th. It was the worst I’ve seen at blancos, and that’s a lot of money to pay when you don’t enjoy the show. We went downstairs and found an amazing band in the lounge. If we’d known earlier, we would’ve had a better time.

We had a really lovely afternoon and night for the WalesVScotland game, but trying to pay in cash after 10.30pm left us very disappointed. We’d paid £25 per person for the full experience, so it was shocking that cash wasn’t accepted. Cash is legal tender, and refusing it was wrong.

We had a great two day stay and would definitely go back. The 24 bar has a large restaurant, the food was really good and came out extremely hot, and the waitresses were spot on. Our room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The rooms could do with a bit of an update.

I only spotted a couple of days after our stay that my app booking had gone through twice, leaving us with duplicate rooms. Both bookings should have been visible in the hotel’s system at check-in, and we’d provided both parties’ names, but staff didn’t mention the extra reservation or ask why those rooms seemed unused. I contacted the hotel through the booking agent once I noticed, but they refused a refund for the rooms we never used. They hid behind the cancellation policy instead of showing common sense or customer care. Very disappointing, with no goodwill at all. Be warned and check your booking carefully, because the hotel won’t help even when the error is obvious.
