The owner’s husband made us two big, lovely pizzas even though they’d stopped serving food after a busy lunch. We’d arrived hungry at about 7pm on a cold Sunday at the end of January, and she smiled and said, “Well, we can’t let you go hungry, can we?” The pizzas were hot, light, and loaded. The log fire was going, and the place felt wonderfully warm. We had a delightful evening at The Five Pilchards pub and loved the name. Thank you both, we WILL be back. Wishing you a very successful 2026, you deserve it. Angela & Roy x We didn’t stay at the pub, so I can’t comment on the rooms, though I’m sure they’ll be great too.

The food was the best part. I can highly recommend the fish baguette, served with chips and salad, and it went down well with a pint of Guinness. The sausage baguette and pizzas were very good too. It was nice to see the Pilchards open again, with a warm welcome from the landlord and landlady. The pub was clean, bright, and cozy from the Woodburner on a cold, damp day. We’ll definitely return.

We’ve been coming for years and were really excited when this place reopened. The beer is great, the food is delicious, especially the pizza, and the atmosphere is what makes it. I love it here.

We stopped for lunch on our coastal path walk. The portions were fabulous, especially the fish finger baguette, and it set us up for the afternoon’s hike. Highly recommended.

We popped in on a very windy winter’s day and had great service. During our fortnight in Cornwall, these were the best fish and chips we had. The steak frites is definitely worth recommending.
