We had an excellent, plentiful meal and a really enjoyable evening thanks to the friendly owners and locals. It made a great overnight stop for us in our campervan, and we'll stop again next time we're in the area.

We ended up needing an extra night while the car was being repaired, and they even gave us some dog food for our unexpected extended stay. We'd broken down on the drive back from Peak District, but the owner and locals welcomed us in, and luckily a spare room was available. It was extremely cosy, with lovely comfort food.

The staff were welcoming and the service was great, and the locals were friendly too, especially Rob at the bar! We came on Sunday evening for a Beef Sunday roast and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, and we finished with a banana and toffee sundae, which was a great dessert.

The only nice thing was the fire. The toilets were disgusting, the sofa cushions were dirty, and the curtains looked like they'd never been washed. Staff weren't friendly, and customers at the bar stood in the way without moving for you. Very rude. Sorry, but this is the worst pub I've ever been in, and I definitely won't go back.

We stopped in for an evening meal because the pub was only five minutes from where we were staying. It had a warm feel, the food was good homemade food, and the bar lady was lovely and friendly with great service.
