The room was in awful condition, and filthy. Dust everywhere, black mould on the windows, and blinds caked in dust. The cups felt sticky with what seemed like old grease. The bedding looked dirty and threadbare, and didn't smell clean. There were holes in the walls and gaps in the ceilings. The photos on booking.com seemed at least ten years out of date. The place needs a complete renovation and a proper clean. It felt like a room in a doss house, and I can't stress enough that people should avoid it. We were travelling as two adults with two young teens. We were told we had to book two rooms, a family room with a double and one single, plus a twin, since each child needed to share with an adult. On arrival, though, the family room had a double and two singles and was big enough for all four of us. The no-refund policy meant we still had to pay for both rooms. The WiFi barely worked, even with several extenders, and the TV lost its signal after only a few minutes.

We spent three nights here and the staff never emptied the rubbish or replaced the used towels with fresh ones. The whole building, inside and out, was dirty, and the car park was full of trash. Our room door handles barely worked, so we couldn't lock it properly. WiFi was weak, and the old, thin windows let in traffic noise. The TV was tiny, the bathroom was disgusting, and the broken shower tap made it hard to adjust the temperature. It was chilly for us at 15°C, but the radiators didn't work.

The breakfast room was hard to find through the maze of corridors, which all smelled bad and had stained carpets. The glasses, juice jugs, plates, cutlery, placemats and tablecloths weren't properly clean. My scrambled egg on toast was so vile I spat it out after one spoonful, and I didn't eat or drink anything else. My partner said his bacon sandwich was not too bad. There were flies on the dining room windowsills. Our room was just as bad: mouldy pillowcases, stained towels and sheets, and horrible water marks on the shower door that made it clear the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. There was a dead spider in the corner, dust thick enough on the lamps to write your name in, stained carpets and a horrible musty smell. This was the worst B&B I've stayed in, more like a hostel. It needs a serious inspection or to be shut down. It's disgusting.

We only stayed because it was too late to find somewhere else after arriving for a funeral. The reception smelled of cigarettes, and the place was freezing and musty. The building was like a maze, and we needed a sat nav to find our room. Every carpet was stained, the pillows smelled, the beds rocked whenever you turned over, and the towels felt like sandpaper. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom, and the TV was about the size of an Apple iPad. Our friends found blood on their sheets and mouse droppings on the floor 🤮 We had breakfast booked for 8:30, but the dining room was locked and we couldn't find any staff, so we left without it. The woman was friendly, but the place was just awful and needs shutting down 😞

The location is great, but there weren't enough staff and the rooms, hallways and dining room were dirty. Even the things on the tables were unclean. Breakfast was fried, had black bits on it and tasted of stale oil. The couple running the hotel need serious help with the day-to-day jobs to bring it up to standard.
