Clarmont Guest House

We stayed here for North West. The room was clean and spacious, and the Jacuzzi bath was a lovely extra. Staff were really friendly, and breakfast was cooked to order. It deserves more than its two-star rating, I thought. Definitely recommend this B&B, and can't wait for another excuse to come back.

Clarmont is a lovely budget BnB in the heart of Portrush, looking out over the Skerries and the sea. The rooms I saw were clean, cosy and comfortable, with the expected extras: tea, coffee, milk, a kettle, television, fresh towels and toiletries. With few facilities for children, it's probably better suited to older teenagers and adults. Personally, that isn't a deal breaker, as the amusements are less than a five-minute walk away.

My maid of honour and her boyfriend came from Belfast for our wedding. They got to Portrush just in time for the ceremony and photos, then tried to check in as soon as we finished, around 8:30. The doors had been locked and they were left out on the street. There wasn't a single open room anywhere in Portrush, so my husband of about three hours and I shared our first night, and our bed, with her and her boyfriend. Shame on them.

We've stayed here twice and enjoyed it both times. The hosts are nice, the place is clean and tidy, and breakfast is superb. There's a big TV lounge overlooking the sea, with easy access to the town centre, trains and buses. Ramore head, the harbour, and the east and west strands are all a short walk away. Recommended.
