Even with appalling winter weather, we still walked for miles on the beach, over the dunes and along the concrete flood defences. The Cookhouse pub in Prestatyn is worth a try for good pub food at reasonable prices. There were eight of us and a small dog, and everyone had a great time. The property was modern and clean, about 100 yards from the beach, with a games room and hot tub.

The garden was a real hit, with a hot tub, games room and cinema projector. The beach is right outside the back gate, which was amazing for the kids and our dog. We’ve just come back from a lovely week with the family in this holiday home managed by welsh villas. It’s in Prestatyn, close to the high street and plenty of attractions for days when the weather isn’t great. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to explore North Wales.
