We had a lovely stay on a very quiet residential street, with plenty of off-street parking and only a short walk downhill to the town centre. It’s a beautiful setting, with a pond, bridge and garden that felt like a scene from Monet. The price was very reasonable for such a homely, zen-like B&B, and we’ll definitely return. Swan was such a considerate, attentive host and clearly wanted us to enjoy ourselves. Our double room had beautifully embroidered bedding and was very comfortable. The functional wet room had a nice tiled stone floor and plenty of good soap and shampoo. Tea and coffee are set up outside the room, but that spot is private, with a fridge stocked with fresh milk and water. Breakfast in the lovely conservatory was exactly as we ordered. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the fresh mushrooms were delicious, and we were offered more toast a couple of times.

After finishing the Offa’s Dyke Path, we stayed here for our last night. It’s right off the path and very quiet, with the train and town just a short walk downhill. Swan made us feel at home, and we could use the glass top living room and outdoor areas. Her garden is amazing, and breakfast was whatever we wanted.

I met a couple from Jersey here who were setting off on their half-Path walk, and we’re still friends. I was staying at the start of my end-to-end Offa's Dyke Path walk back in 2014, and it was a delight. The hosts were friendly, the street was quiet, and the landscaping was beautiful and imaginative. Breakfast was yummy and just what I needed before a long day's walk.

A lovely host and a great place to stay when you're starting or finishing the Offa’s Dyke Path hike.

I live just around the corner, and a relative of my husband and his friend stayed at this pleasant family-run B&B. They made us all feel welcome and showed us around the rooms, dining area and gardens. It’s an impressive little hideaway just minutes from town. My relative enjoyed it so much that he’s going back, and I’d highly recommend staying here.
