Claremont Hotel

They went out of their way to fit me in at very short notice, an absolute lifesaver. Wonderful stay, and I’ll definitely stay there again next time I’m in Preston.

We got a good night’s rest at the Claremont. It was very quiet around the area, and parking was plentiful and convenient. The room was spacious and comfortable, with shower soap, tea and coffee, and a kettle. The place was easy to find our way around, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was filling, with lots of fresh hot and cold options. We booked through Booking only a few hours before arriving in the evening, but called first to check they’d received the reservation.

My Aunt and Uncle booked the hotel for me when I came to visit them, and I stayed four nights. The bathroom was clean and modern, and the room was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was more than enough, and the staff were very friendly. I’ll definitely stay again and highly recommend it if you’re looking around Preston.

We’d stayed before because we’re usually easygoing and the place is cheap compared with the nicer local options, but we won’t be staying again. There was mould in the shower, and the water only dripped out. Our bedroom had no WiFi despite it being advertised, and reception was empty after 10pm, so there was nobody to ask for help. They also charged an extra £10 on arrival for two people in a double room. At breakfast, an older, larger lady on staff kept glaring at us and making us feel unwelcome because I had three bowls of cereal. In front of everyone, she snarled that it “wasn’t a buffet” and called me “disrespectful”. The sign said “please help yourself to cereal”. Instead of simply explaining there was a limit, she tried to belittle us.
