Premier Inn Preston Central

Breakfast was fantastic. The one team member working, a gentleman, was doing a great job and made us feel very welcome. Dinner service, though, was really bad. There were only three guests in the restaurant, with one manager and two front-of-house staff, yet we waited 20 minutes for drinks after ordering and an hour for the food. The pizza arrived first, then 15 or 20 minutes later the smothered chicken came out cold, obviously. Another plate followed 10 to 15 minutes after that. We went to a restaurant to eat together, and this was ridiculous. The manager apologised for the wait but did nothing to sort it out. Guest promises exist for a reason. It took 20 minutes to settle my bill despite the restaurant having just three guests, and the hotel wasn’t full either. We’d booked a table for 18:00 and left around 21:30. It was just ridiculous. I can’t submit a review with no stars, otherwise I wouldn’t give even one. Never again.

The hotel was lovely inside, the room was lovely and the staff were really friendly. I enjoyed the restaurant food too. On my last morning, though, there was nobody at reception. I waited around ten minutes to be seated, as the sign asked, then gave up and sat down myself. Fortunately, I’d already paid for a meal deal, but anyone could have walked in. I felt a little uneasy walking to and from the hotel because of the area, especially as a young woman on my own.

The service from Ismail and Phoenix really made our trip special. They were fantastic, as were the cleaners we spoke with and the morning restaurant staff. Everyone worked so hard, and I can’t thank them enough. My mum and I stayed for the weekend, from the 8th to the 9th of November, and were very impressed. The location was ideal, with everything within walking distance. Our room was quiet, comfortable and felt safe, with a very high standard of quality. Thank you all!

I’ve always liked Premier Inn, but I wasn’t impressed when I stayed here in Preston a month ago. One staff member wasn’t helpful at all, though the other two were. Their computer couldn’t issue my room key, and they charged for toothpaste, something other Premier Inns I’ve stayed at never did.
