Breakfast was excellent, and the team were attentive throughout our really lovely stay. The bedroom felt generous, with cosy decor, a strong shower and everything immaculately clean. We brought our two JRTs, and each had a lovely dog bed and welcome pack. It’s the prettiest pub, restaurant and hotel on the high street. We’d definitely come back.

The rooms were cosy and pleasing, and the beds really comfy. What I’ll remember most, though, is how kind the manager on duty was on a Sunday morning in December. I’d lost my bag with my US passport and was meant to travel home that day. I thought I’d left it while checking in the day before, but the manager carefully checked the camera footage and reassured me I hadn’t had the bag there. That helped me retrace my steps properly and find it. He was sympathetic and encouraging too. Thank you for restoring my faith in the kindness of strangers.

We’ll always remember Paul, Handyman Christian, and all the F&B & HSK. They were so friendly and supportive, and did far more than expected to make things easy and comfortable for our family. The whole staff were incredible, and any company should be proud to have people like them. Our room was lovely, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast and meals during the day were tasty. We’re deeply grateful for everything they did for us. Thank you so, so much. Words can’t really say how much it meant.

Red Lion is a name used by many different hotels, so which one you mean depends on the location. There’s the US based Red Lion Hotels chain, with dozens of full service properties in the U.S. and Canada, in the same mid scale space as Holiday Inn and Ramada. Examples include Red Lion Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista South, popular with theme park families, and Red Lion Hotel Harrisburg Hershey, handy for Hershey attractions and business travellers. Red Lion Inn & Suites Nashville Airport is another example, though it isn’t currently open. In the UK, the name also belongs to historic inns unrelated to the American chain. Red Lion Hotel, Cromer is a four star hotel with sea views and a bar and lounge. The Red Lion Hotel, Salisbury is described as one of Europe’s oldest purpose built hotels, in the city centre near the cathedral. Red Lion Hotel, Clovelly is an 18th century inn overlooking the historic harbour in North Devon. There are plenty of other coaching inns and pubs called Red Lion in England and elsewhere in the Commonwealth. If you have a particular city or nearby attraction in mind, say which hotel you mean.

We used the hotel while travelling into London, and the location worked perfectly. Free parking and very accommodating service made it an easy choice for an overnight visit. The breakfast was lovely, with little extra touches that made it feel special. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, full of thoughtful features. The bed was comfy, although the Mrs now wants a new mattress, thanks 😂. We’ve just left after a short stay, and I’ll be recommending it to friends visiting London.
