Bow Guest House

Being out in the middle of nowhere was actually part of the appeal for me, hehe, it's a kink of mine. They also brought us a complimentary breakfast, and there was a good variety of things I liked. The room felt private, and Uber Eats worked fine, with orders collectable at my door. I've travelled to a lot of places around the UK over the last four years, and nowhere has given me a better experience. This hotel is a gem and had everything I wanted.

The owner and staff were really friendly, and I enjoyed the tasty breakfast. There was free Wi-Fi too. I had some doubts because of older reviews, but once I stayed here, I found the place comfortable and nice. It's a great place to stay.

I only needed a bed and shower for an overnight stop, and as I was travelling alone, the more reasonable price was a relief after seeing what other rooms nearby cost. The owners were lovely and attentive without hovering, and the service was really nice. Bow House offers excellent value for money. Honestly, worth every penny.

The room wasn't serviced during my stay, apart from someone sweeping with a dustpan and brush, and they didn't even get under the bed. The bed was just remade with the same week-old bedding, and they aren't serving breakfast yet, despite getting paid for it. It took about 20 minutes to lock the door because the lock wasn't working properly. I have photos and plan to report this further. It smelled of urine, there was a fly under a teacup, and the kettle plug fell apart. Stains covered the carpet, walls and curtains, with damp on the walls. The place was filthy, even compared with the streets outside. I expected it to be cleaned and sanitised for Covid, but it wasn't. I was absolutely disgusted and wouldn't let an animal sleep here. You'd probably catch everything.
