I was glad a friend pointed me to Reading Serviced Rooms when I suddenly needed a place in Reading with secure parking. The manager was extremely helpful, and I felt well looked after. I called late one evening and by 9.30 the next morning I was booked in, parked, and walking to the town centre for my meetings. The facilities were clean, comfortable and finished to a high standard. I’d booked a week because I expected to stay that long, but my work wrapped up mid-week and they refunded the unused days without hesitation. I’d gladly recommend the place and use it again. One thing to know: the road into the car park is quite narrow. My Mitsubishi Outlander made it down without a problem, so it’s manageable, but check your vehicle’s size. The manager warned me when I booked. In return, you get a properly secure, gated car park right outside, which was well worth it and not easy to find in Reading.

The location worked really well for us, with the town centre a short walk away and the riverside and park even closer for a sunny stroll. There were plenty of food and drink options nearby. We enjoyed drinks at The Moderation, dinner at the Standard Tandoori, and breakfast at the Richfields Deli. Our room also had a fridge and microwave. The room was roomy and comfortable, and the recent renovation had left everything looking smart. The beds and linen felt high quality, there was fast WiFi and a good smart TV, plus a coffee-maker with capsules. The bathroom had a pumped shower with hot water straight away and a strong flow. We used a code for the front and back doors and our room instead of a key or card. It was easy to use. We’d also booked a spot in the private car park at the back. The access road was tight at first, but we got through and the car park was easy to enter with the code. Our room faced the busy road, so we were a little concerned about noise mentioned in earlier reviews. The new acoustic glass windows seemed to make a real difference, and we slept and relaxed without trouble. We had a very nice stay in Reading.

I stayed in two different rooms at the Caversham Road location over time, and both were comfortable and very well equipped. The staff were polite and helpful, and it was great value. Traffic on Caversham Road is constant, so the front rooms can be noisy. The double glazing helps, but light sleepers might still find it difficult. That’s the only real downside I can think of.

The rooms were kept very clean and tidy, and the staff who run the place were lovely to talk to and always willing to help. I stayed for six months and couldn’t fault them. It’s in Caversham, with nice pubs about a five-minute walk away and the river Thames right behind for walks. The train station is no more than a 10-minute walk, and Reading town centre is about 15 minutes away. With the walk and train included, you can get to london in 45 minutes. I highly recommend these rooms for train trips to london.

Secure parking was excellent, and we’d book it again. If the spaces are full, there were a couple of free roadside spots when we visited, so I’d check there before heading to the nearby station. Do check first if you drive something really big, since access is tight. The place was lovely and newly renovated, with good shower pressure on the first floor. There’s good food nearby, and we hadn’t expected such a nice walk by the river. It’s hard to think of a more pleasant, better value option in Reading. These people have clearly made an effort, and that moved me to leave a review, which I rarely do.
