Travelodge Reading M4 Westbound

The staff were lovely, but the rooms don't have secure locks. They use a latch and key instead of a fob or keycard. We tested our door and found we could get in from outside by sliding the Do Not Disturb sign into the door frame. That's a major security risk. I stayed Saturday 7th February.

I was unsure about staying here with my family because of some negative reviews. We just needed a night away, and this was the nearest, cheapest hotel, so we decided to give it a go. The receptionist was nice and helpful, and we were really impressed with the room. We had family room 203 at the back of the second floor. It was clean and had plenty of tea, towels and body wash. The sheets and bedding were clean too, which my wife always checks. The beds were comfortable and there were extra pillows. At £64 a night, you really can't go wrong. We'd stay again.

The accessible room was spacious and well laid out, and we heard very little noise. The Travelodge was very clean and comfortable, with clean bedding and plenty of tea and coffee. Parking is free, but you need to register at reception. We were impressed!

Please be careful if staying overnight, especially with young children or family. The room doors didn't lock from the inside, and my children didn't feel happy staying there. We cancelled straight away and drove back 120 miles overnight. I'd avoid this location, especially if travelling with valuable things. They refused to refund us.
