Red Barns Bed & Breakfast

My partner and I have travelled all over the UK in recent years, and this is the best place I’ve ever stayed. I’ve given hotels 10/10 before, but this visit has raised the bar for me. Even with the excellent reviews, I can’t find anything to criticise. It felt perfect in every way. The owners are so polite and welcoming, and I felt looked after throughout. They even asked whether I wanted fresh towels rather than just coming into the room, which I really appreciate, though that’s just my point of view. They’ve clearly put a lot of heart into the place. It’s beautiful, clean and very well kept. Our room was spacious, with a lovely view from the window. The bathroom was wonderful, the bed was comfortable, and the bedding and towels were fresh-smelling and very clean. Everything we needed was provided. Breakfast was delicious and adapted to what we each liked. I only wish we’d stayed longer. I recommend it to everyone!

We’ve stayed in plenty of B&Bs over the years, and this is the best one so far. The owners are lovely and shared loads of useful local knowledge. Breakfast was great, and our room was just right. Jackie and John were wonderful hosts, always happy to help. We stayed three days and would gladly return in November. The breakfasts were really tasty each morning, and there was free parking and some lovely little touches in the room. The building has been beautifully renovated and has heaps of history. The facilities are great, and there’s a large garden with seating where you can sit in the sunshine. Thanks for a great stay.

Redcar made a great base for exploring North Yorkshire, between Durham and York, and Red Barns Bed & Breakfast was a lucky find. The breakfast exceeded our expectations every day, freshly made and delicious. John and Jackie were friendly, helpful hosts with a British sense of humour. The B&B is in a lovingly restored historic building. Our room was tastefully furnished and looked out over the well-kept garden. The bathroom was spotless and the bed was comfortable. If we’re back in the area, Red Barns B&B will be our first choice.
