OYO The White Hart Inn

I paid £76 and had a really unpleasant stay. The room was dirty, with rubbish in the corner and wardrobe, and the bathroom bin was full. The toilet seat was broken, the shower was disgusting, and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. I was even expected to make my own bed, with no mattress or pillow protectors. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly from the start. We spent the evening chatting with them and met some great people. After the bar closed, a couple of them even drove me to the petrol station for drinks. I got very drunk, locked myself out, and somehow ended up in a closet instead of my room, but someone let me back in and I eventually found my way. It was a great night and I'd stay again. The price for one night was very reasonable, and the place looked nice too.

I wanted to speak with someone, maybe a manager or supervisor, but the only number I could find was OYO's room booking line. The people answering were nice, but could only read from a script and kept asking whether I wanted to book a room. It's mildly annoying, to say the least. Whatever happened to being able to call and have the conversation you're looking for? I don't think this is a good way to run a pub, though what do I know? Rant over, I suppose I'll have to pop in to talk.

My holiday was ruined. The bed base had a hole and the mattress springs poked through, making it very uncomfortable. There was a loose socket, broken soap dish, loose bathroom tap, black mildew around the bottom of the shower, and a filthy bin with no liner, full of burns. The carpet was stained, and dirty, wet towels and sheets weren't changed for 10 days. There were three drawers, but a desk blocked access so I couldn't use them. A plastic bag covered the ceiling fire alarm, with a no smoking sign laid flat over it, so it was ignored. Although I was given a key and code, they didn't work in the evenings, and there were no doors open for entry. I was back by 9pm or earlier each night, despite being told at the desk the door closed at 10.30. On my last night I couldn't get in and had to return the next morning. Disgusting.
