Ashmount Hotel

The hotel was immaculately clean, and breakfast the next morning was excellent, with plenty of choice: cereal, fresh fruit and a cooked meal made to your choice. Julie and her husband, who was the chef, looked after all of us and couldn’t do enough, especially for the children. They even had bacon butties after their cereal, and enjoyed apple drink with breakfast. We stayed with our son, his wife and three grandchildren. Our son’s excellent family room had a double and bunk beds; ours had a double and a single, and both rooms had en-suite bathrooms. Judith welcomed us warmly and gave us lots of information about the hotel. I’d recommend it to anyone, young or old.

We stayed a while ago with two adults and three kids, and the hotel was close to the seaside. The couple who run it were lovely and very accommodating. They set up a cot in our family room so we could all stay together. Breakfast was cooked to order and great. There was also a shared family room with games, cards and a TV, so we didn’t have to spend the evening in our bedroom.

They reserved an off-road space for our trike motorcycle after I explained I didn’t want to leave it on the street. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and tidy, with a good-sized bathroom, a comfortable bed and plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order each morning, with lots of choice. We’d highly recommend the hotel and plan to return soon. Thanks for your hospitality.

I’ve just had my second holiday based at the Ashley, coming over from Australia, and this time I brought some of the family along. The location, welcome, comfort, rooms and breakfasts were just as great as they were three years ago. Peter and Judith are caring, cheerful and helpful hosts. God willing, I’ll spend time with them again.
