Premier Inn Rhyl Seafront

Service was decent, and Alan from Scotland and the restaurant girl were both nice. The rest was so-so, and this hotel needs some work, including getting the windows cleaned. We booked a Premier Plus room, but the heating never worked. They said they'd look at it, yet there was still no heat three days later. The shower was mediocre compared with some others. One day they said two cleaners hadn't shown up, so our Premier Plus room probably wouldn't be cleaned. The cleaners also never refilled the tea and coffee. The bar closes after breakfast and doesn't open again until 5pm, which must mean lost business. When it closes, Premier Plus guests have to walk outside and around the building. Why not put shutters at the bar so people can walk through? There's a coffee machine and hot water in the waiting area, but neither was available.

The sunrise from my window was stunning, and I didn't hear any noise from traffic, gulls, or other guests. The staff were friendly without getting in the way. My room was lovely, clean, tidy, and very comfortable, more like a small suite. For the low price I paid, it was an amazing stay. Even the heating controller worked, which is unusual in a Premier Inn. The dining room was closed for maintenance, but there are plenty of places to eat nearby. The free breakfast items could be better, though they were complimentary.

I usually have nothing but good things to say about Premier Inns, but this stay wasn't a good one. We were moved twice. In the first room, two mattresses had been pushed together, but the join was uneven, hard, and kept pulling apart, making the bed uncomfortable. The next room's heating couldn't be controlled. Reception turned it on from a panel downstairs and set it to 21 degrees, but the room was still very cold, so we moved again. The last room was fine except it had only one towel, which we didn't notice until morning. We asked for the room to be serviced. When we got back, I wasn't sure what had been cleaned, though the bin had been emptied. The toilet hadn't been cleaned. They left fresh towels and a bath mat, but also left all the dirty laundry behind.

The room was clean and tidy, and it was fine for our two-night stay. A few things could be better: the curtains don't cover the whole window, the toilet seat is loose, and we'd have liked another pillow each. When we left, there was no staff around, so we had to leave our keys on the reception desk. Thanks.
