There’s no food here beyond snacks, but the atmosphere is good, even when it’s busy. They show sports matches, and people of all ages come in. Everyone’s really friendly, and the landlords are very personable. I believe they have karaoke on Saturday evenings, as well as organised walks on Sunday @ 10.

We walked up from Ripon village and found an empty bar. After waiting a minute, I asked a staff member if anyone was serving and was told to go around to the other side. There was nobody serving there either, so we left. A very uneventful visit, and we won’t bother coming back.

It was my American wife Tara’s first time in Ripon, and my first visit back in ten years. The owners and staff were fantastic and made us feel welcome. It’s a wonderful place, and we won’t wait another ten years to visit again.
