We felt right at home thanks to the friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. The Bruce Arms has a cosy traditional feel, a charming beer garden for sunny days, and is very dog friendly. The food was delicious, with fresh ingredients and generous portions. The local ales had a great selection, and the Sunday roast was especially good, with perfectly cooked meat and all the trimmings. Right in the heart of Masham, it's a great place for a meal, a drink or even a weekend stay. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting. We'll be back!

The welcome from the staff is as warm as the open fire, and there's a great choice of beers. Food is served at lunch and in the evening every day, and it's pretty good for a reasonable price. I had the ham and cheese baguette with chips and salad, and it hit the spot perfectly. There's a beer garden out back and tables at the front. Dogs are welcome too. A great little pub, highly recommended.

What a great little pub. They have a good drinks selection and the real ale is really well kept. There's no food just now, though it's coming soon. Friendly staff, lovely surroundings and a great beer garden, which will be especially nice as the weather improves. Well worth stopping for a drink if you're in the area. We'll definitely call again.

I liked the interior and the draught beer selection, but the Sunday roast left me very disappointed. The large plate costs £15, and although there was a lot of food, the quality wasn't very good. I tried the pork, turkey and beef. The turkey was very good, but the pork didn't taste great and the beef was a bit tough. The mash tasted as if it had gone off, and the other vegetables had no taste. The gravy was bland too. For the price and quality, I wouldn't recommend it.

The pub's just been taken over by a new landlord. There isn't any food at the moment, but it's a nice pub and I had a lovely pint of Theakston bitter.
