There were four of us, and we dropped in around 5.30 yesterday to see if we could get a Sunday dinner. They quickly found us a table and took our drinks order. We all chose the carvery, and the beef, roast potatoes and substantial Yorkshire puddings were great. There was veggie stuffing and a good choice of vegetables too. If you’re still hungry, you can go back for more Yorkshire puddings and veg. Nice atmosphere and very good value. We’ll definitely return xxx

We rang ahead about bringing our two big dogs and were told they’d find us a space, without needing a booking. Dogs are welcome in the open, spacious bar area, though not in the main dining room. The staff we met were really welcoming and friendly, and the carvery was amazing. There were three meats and lots of sides, plus a huge homemade Yorkshire pudding. The food was so good that I’d suggest booking a weekend table, as I can see it getting busy. We can’t wait to visit again. Thanks to everyone who looked after us.

The carvery was well worth going back for after we spotted the “Best Carvery in Yorkshire” signs as we drove past. Portions were generous, the food was good quality and the service very friendly. At £14.95, I find it hard to fault. If we lived nearby, we’d come often. Maybe next time we’re in Yorkshire!

The standout for me was the food: fresh and really tasty, especially the meat, my two thick slices of turkey, the roast carrots and parsnips, which were divine, and the mashed potatoes. The staff were amazing, professional and attentive. The George says it serves Yorkshire’s finest carveries. I’ve had better Sunday lunches, but never a better carvery. The place itself feels bright and airy, with lovely light oak paneling. We drove through Minskip and a couple of other villages to get there, and it was well worth it. Give it a go, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Thanks, folks.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the carvery was very good, with generous portions, a good choice of meats and a massive homemade Yorkshire pudding. We’d stopped after seeing the sign outside calling it “the greatest carvery in Yorkshire.” For pudding, the rhubarb crumble, apple and caramel tart with custard, and sticky toffee pudding were all top-notch comfort food. We’ll definitely be back for the discounted Thursday carvery for over-55s 😉
