The cakes are delicious, and you can just grab them in a box to take away. I’ve done that before, so there’s no need to sit down for a full meal. The brunch choices are nice too, with plenty of hot drinks to choose from. I haven’t stayed here, but the cafe is great and I’d recommend it to anyone nearby.

We really like being able to bring our dog along when we come to the office, so the pet-friendly policy is a big plus. The location works well for us too, close enough to the M1 and with Milton Keynes easy to reach. When we’re visiting Northampton, we stay at The Roade House if we can, usually for around four or five nights. Paul & Maxine are always welcoming, and the rooms are immaculate and comfortable, with a good choice of tea, coffee and water. Breakfast is a pleasant start to the day, with fresh options and some variety.

I won’t be coming back. The breakfast was very average, and my eggs were overcooked. Early in the morning, someone was banging yoga balls with drumsticks, which I had to put up with. There was barely enough soap or shower gel, and the toilet was a long walk from the bed, at least 12 steps by my count. Next time I’ll probably try glamping or stay at a pub.

We came for two nights while attending a family wedding nearby, and Paul and his team were incredibly welcoming, accommodating and helpful. The rooms were lovely and spacious, the service was friendly, and both the breakfast and yoga class were great. What more could you ask for?
