The Kings Head Hotel

The room was spacious, and cleanliness wasn't a problem, but it wasn't maintained to a good standard. The curtains were broken, the tiling uneven, the TV in the bath rusty, and the room TV outdated. Some finishing work was left unfinished. The spare sheets were stained and smelled, and the hairdryer looked very old, maybe from the 90s. There weren't any spoons at the tea station, luckily I'd brought my own. It's a shame, as the rooms could be lovely. The junior suite is the biggest room, but it wasn't anything special and was missing pillows. Rooms get stuffy, and the air conditioning is poor. The corridors have an odour, though thankfully it doesn't reach the rooms. They're quite soundproof, but street noise still comes through. Being close to the high street means irritating early morning noise, and you have to buzz in every time you return. The lift is painfully slow, so walking is probably quicker. I was only on the first floor, but the place isn't very accessible. It's definitely not worth the price. I'd choose a Premier Inn or Travelodge.

I found a bed bug crawling around in my bed in the morning. The photo I'm posting also shows a stained chair that shouldn't be in a hotel room, and a hole in the wall stuffed with toilet paper. This place could be nice, but it needs serious maintenance.

The room was clean, the temperature was controlled, and the bed was comfortable and clean. It did what I needed. The only small problem was a beeping that carried on all night. Still, it was great apart from that, and I'd stay again.

It really sucks that I have to write this just to get their attention. I had a reservation that needed changing at the last minute, but they kept directing me to email and never replied. Now my refund request has been denied. The hotel staff in person told me to email, but they won't respond. When I stayed there, the pub was closed and the front desk reeked of weed. Wouldn't recommend, customer support is non-existent!
