Grosvenor Hotel

We found this traditional pub and hotel a great choice for a winter midweek break. Parking across the road is free until the end of March, and there are good deals for midweek winter stays when you book directly through the website. The welcome from the staff was lovely, and the evening meals were tasty, well cooked and reasonably priced. The breakfast is included and cooked fresh to order. It was the best I've had in a long time, with excellent bacon and sausage, plus cereal, fruit juice, fresh fruit, toast and hot drinks. There's also a good range of real ales, with something to suit most tastes.

We ate here on two different nights and the food was superb, hearty and homemade, with very generous portions. There's a good menu as well as daily specials, and the staff are really friendly. We first heard about the place while visiting the dog shop Paws, where we asked for a local food recommendation and were told locals eat here. It can get busy on some evenings, so book a table if you're after a good meal.

Our winter stay at The Grosvenor was fabulous. We had a lovely room looking out over the church and countryside, and the staff were friendly and so helpful. Breakfast was fantastic, and there were lots of lovely choices for dinner. Robin Hood's Bay is such a quaint, cute place to explore too.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The dining room is pleasant, service is quick, and breakfast was decent. There's also a bar and pub, where we had a very good leek and chicken pie with mash and vegetables. The hotel is well placed, only a few minutes from the bus station and about five minutes from the old town. We could hear a lot through the walls, including other guests flushing toilets or coughing in the night, so earplugs might help. It was also very windy, and the window frame rattled loudly enough to keep us from sleeping well. Even with those issues, it's a decent place to stay in Robin Hood's Bay.
