The Gordon House Hotel

I wouldn’t say this is good value for money. The room looked very tired and was long overdue for redecorating. I came down for breakfast, but although the room folder said it was served between 8 and 10, there was no one around anywhere. It was quite spooky. When we came back later to get changed, someone was at reception and said they don’t do breakfast anymore.

There’s a bar on the ground floor, which is a big bonus, and the hotel has everything you need. It’s on a lively central street where there’s always something fun and interesting going on. The bus stop and train station are very close, and there’s parking too.

The staff were friendly, there was plenty of parking, and the location is excellent. The rooms were nice and clean, apart from a huge spider web behind the curtain with a spider living in a hole above the radiator. I was in a room at the front and could hear the clubbers outside until 2am. I’d ask for a room at the back.

This was my first stay at Gordon house hotel, for Pride weekend on 16th Aug 2025. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and the hotel is right in the middle of Rochester Town, handy for public transport. On arrival I met the owner, a wonderful, accommodating and helpful lady, and we had a lovely chat. It was a very pleasant stay. A bonus is that her daughter owns a great bar a few doors down, good for a night out, with entertainment and a pretty good drinks selection. I’ll definitely be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
