We went to dine at the pub after getting an email offering 25% off the bill. The meal was fine, but we couldn't pay with the Cherry Tree giftcard we'd bought online because we'd used the discount. I’d expected to be able to use the card whenever we ate there, with or without an offer running. So we’ll need to return another time and pay without taking up any discounts available to everyone else.

The setting at The Cherry Tree was lovely on our bank holiday visit, and it wasn't especially busy. Still, my friend and I waited over an hour for our food. We ordered a Caesar salad and a fish finger sandwich, and watched several tables who arrived after us get served first. When it finally came, the bowl for my salad was warm, which wasn't great. The atmosphere and location were nice, but the wait and inattentive service really spoiled things.

Jade and Charlotte looked after us so well, friendly and helpful, but never hovering. My friend and I both had lasagne yesterday, and it was cooked perfectly and stayed hot right to the end. The Cherry Tree is always neat and clean, and the Christmas decorations make it look even more lovely. I can't praise the restaurant enough.

We’ve been to the Cherry Tree a few times and came again as a family this weekend. My partner, baby and I all enjoyed our meals, and the baby loved hers too. She was happy taking in the atmosphere inside, which we enjoyed as well. The cake was gorgeous, so we brought some home for a treat. We’ll definitely be back together.

The atmosphere was pleasant and we left full, though the dogs in the restaurant were horrible, smelly animals. The Christmas Day lunch was okay, but nothing special. My turkey roulade with stuffing was tough and hard to cut; I’d much rather have sliced turkey. The vegetables were nice, though I had to ask for cranberry sauce. The Christmas pudding was a very thin slice, and its brandy sauce looked like custard. Sunlight shone straight into my eyes, so I couldn't see my partner sitting opposite. Staff kindly offered us two other tables, but a blind at the window would have helped.
