Chapel Cross Guest House

The bathroom setup needs work. The shower tray was very high, with no step, grab handle, or parachute to make it safer to get out with wet feet. There was only one hanger in the tiny wardrobe. Still, it’s a good business and we’d stay again. Perhaps the owners could spend a night here themselves and see what might be improved. The location is great, the staff are helpful and friendly, and there’s a really good tea room next door.

Roslyn Chapel is just a short walk up the road and is well worth a couple of hours. The place itself is absolutely superb, with beautifully decorated rooms that are comfortable and practical, plus lots of electrical sockets and a wide choice of TV channels. Dolly's tea room is downstairs, and there’s a local pub across the road.

The bus stop for central Edinburgh is right outside, which is handy. This is a lovely independently run guesthouse connected to a cafe. The rooms are comfortable and a good size, though the bathrooms are a little cramped.

The staff were warm, welcoming, and lovely to chat with. They were happy to help make our stay a good one, and we’ll definitely visit again. I’d recommend it to anyone. We had a lovely room and very comfy beds. The hotel is in a wonderful little corner of Roslin, with a quaint tea room where you can get breakfast or lunch and buy beautiful wreaths. There’s also a sister pub/Inn across the road for evening meals. The food and drinks at both places were wonderful. It was our first night 'up North' and a marvellous start to our week in Scotland!
