The sheets had stains and were dirty, and the shower wouldn’t get hot in the morning or at night. The rooms were otherwise fine, with comfy beds. It’s a nice old pub in a great spot right on the high street, with a great breakfast. The service was lovely, helpful and the staff super friendly, which made for an enjoyable stay.

We had my daughter’s christening party in the side room at the back of the hotel, and it was incredible! The pub always serves the best food, and the staff are so helpful and positive. I can’t fault it.

The food is always good here. The burgers are lovely, and the steak and ale pie is top notch.

“Gabby” at the restaurant’s host stand is amazing. I live in the States, and she managed to arrange a last-minute surprise dinner for visiting family. She stayed completely patient and kind while I sorted out some shenanigans over multiple phone calls after my bank mistakenly flagged the dinner charge as “fraud” because it came from another country. She made what could have been stressful feel smooth and seamless. She’s a rockstar.

The party room was a good size for our family gathering. The bar staff member was on her own from 7pm until midnight, with no help from colleagues in the main hotel, but her service was excellent. I can't comment on the rooms since we couldn't stay, the hotel was full. It's clearly popular and books up quickly.
