The food was fresh and the Yorkshire puddings were easily the best we’ve had. We came for a family carvery today and, as on previous visits, it was lovely. Everyone was friendly, especially the woman serving at the carvery, who was really helpful. Prices were reasonable and it’s just a nice place to eat. It would help if waitresses checked whether tables needed another drink, though the bar is close by. Thanks again.

The website said they were open until 7 pm, so we went for the Carvery. When we arrived, we found out it was open to residents only. Why wasn’t that mentioned on the website?

They understood celiac disease and could tell me which vegetables to avoid. To reduce possible cross contamination, the chef used separate serving knives and made gluten-free gravy for me. The Carvery was tasty and very enjoyable. I’d highly recommend it for Sunday lunch.

We didn’t stay overnight, but Mike, the owner, let us use a room for the whole day while we waited for my dad’s funeral, which wasn’t until late afternoon. He really went above and beyond for his wake. It’s a lovely place, run by a genuinely kind man. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent night out at a party here, with good food and very nice staff. The hotel is lovely, and we’d highly recommend the Sunday carvery.
