Travelodge Wellingborough Rushden

Rushden lakes is right next door, with plenty to do nearby. The receptionist went out of her way to help us book a taxi after a crash closed the main road. We only paid a small amount for one night, and the room was good enough for that price. The bed was nice and big, and I slept well.

The location is convenient, and the room was clean and the size I expected. The water pressure was a little low, but it wasn't a real problem. What made the biggest difference was the welcome when I arrived. Jayne (I think) was warm, listened carefully, and made it easy to connect with her.

The room was tidy and clean, but we couldn't sleep for either of the two nights. It sounded like every room around us was having some kind of domestic or demonic exorcism, with endless furniture being thrown about and children screaming. On the second night we left at 3am because the noise wouldn't stop.

The evening receptionist helped carry my suitcase upstairs, which I really appreciated. It wasn't heavy, but I needed to hold the banister for balance. The room was lovely and spacious, with modern furnishings and thick curtains. I did find a few stray hairs on the sink and bath, and a stain on the duvet cover, although it was clean. When I arrived, the car park was dark and awkward to navigate. Rushden lakes shopping and leisure is right next door and lovely. You can walk there, but I'm not sure I'd go alone in the dark across the car park at the start to reach the lit path. I'd stay here again, as it suited my needs perfectly for visiting family nearby.
