Yelf's Hotel

The staff were friendly, courteous, and attentive at lunch today. The pork roast was delicious, and the portions were too much for both my husband and me to finish. We still had dessert, though: the lemon drizzle was moist, very lemony, and really nice. I’d recommend the restaurant to anyone. We hope you’ll be open on Christmas Day because we’re looking forward to enjoying your food again. We’ll definitely be back before then. Thanks for a lovely experience 😊

We enjoyed our seven-night stay at Yelfs hotel and thought it was good value. Our family room had plenty of space, and the young woman serving breakfast was pleasant and helpful. The hotel is conveniently placed about halfway between the seafront and town centre, close to the Esplanade and with easy access to transport.

The location on union street in ryde is decent, and the rooms are fairly large. Being on a main road does make them noisy, though. Breakfast is included in the price but served next door, and the area can get busy enough to make it awkward.

Mother’s Day lunch was £30 for a roast with frozen roast potatoes, aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire pudding, paxo stuffing, one small baby carrot, and a couple of slices of cold meat. The chef told us the potatoes weren’t frozen, but another chef confirmed that they were. A staff member later came out in tears after that same chef had shouted at them. More than an hour after we’d finished, we had to clear our own table while the manager stood watching. Happy Mother’s Day.
