The Fox & Hounds

We were on our way from the West Midlands to Fishguard for a wedding the next day and needed somewhere to eat. Everywhere we found was shut by 8pm, then we spotted this brilliant pub online on the way. The staff were lovely and so friendly, and the food was hot and tasty, just what we needed. Shame we couldn’t stay longer. I’ll remember it if I’m down this way again.

After a couple of places turned out not to welcome dogs, we stopped here on the way back from Pembroke Castle. What a delight. We got a super friendly welcome, the dogs were given bowls of water, and the home cooked food for us was amazing. Highly recommended.

We dropped in hoping there might be a table and got a lovely, warm welcome. They took our drinks and food order promptly and let us know the food could take a little while because a larger group was ahead of us, which was no problem. The cooking was good, portions were a nice size, and the food wasn’t too much, though you could add more if you were really hungry. Good value and a good place to choose.

We only visited the restaurant and bar, but the team and food are easy to recommend. We arrived late with two dogs and were welcomed warmly, then invited to sit in the bar area. We happened to be there on Steak Thursday and had a very good dinner. The steaks were delicious and cooked well. We also had a nice chat with some local people at the bar.
