We booked two nights three weeks ahead, travelling from London to Manchester for an event. Everything was approved, and nobody told us we'd need to provide ID until an email arrived three nights before the stay. That was very short notice, as we hadn't known beforehand, but we sent it the next morning and heard nothing back. Assuming all was fine, we called the next day to reserve a parking space. They asked our ages, we gave them, and the person said it was all booked and we could pay on arrival. On the first day, halfway through the drive from London to Manchester, we got an automated email saying the booking was cancelled because we lived within 15 miles of the hotel. All three of us live in London, 160 miles away. We called, thinking it was a mistake, but they confirmed the cancellation. First they said we lived too close, then said it was because we were under 23, even though we'd given our IDs and weren't. They promised to call back, then changed the explanation again 30 minutes later, saying we were under 25. They refused to let us stay even though we were nearly in Manchester, had nowhere else, and had paid upfront. We were told a refund could take up to 15 days. We had to turn around and drive all the way back to London, missed the event, and wasted eight hours on the road.

They cancelled our booking after we'd travelled from Kent, checked in, and paid, and we're still waiting for the refund. We were refused accommodation because we apparently didn't fit their views of a traditional family. It's disgusting that they treat people this way and are allowed to do business like this. Stay clear of this place.

We were four adults staying for a week. There were just two rolls of toilet paper and one rubbish bag, and no dishwashing beads. Of four bedside lamps, three were broken. Not recommended!

At Chareshope, things aren't in place. The rooms aren't looked after well, and there's nothing good in the kitchen.
