The staff were all fantastic, knew the area well, and were happy to help. I’d stay again, but skip breakfast next time. The cooked breakfast was a letdown, 4/10: turkey bacon, no black pudding, and really poor sausages. For the price, the location was excellent, and it’s an easy walk into the city centre. The rooms are very spacious and the shower room was spotless. A few things need some upkeep, though. My heating wasn’t on while my friend’s room next door was, some windows opened and others didn’t, and the hall carpet has yellow stains and needs replacing. The place could do with a bit of an upgrade.

The rooms were clean and lovely, with a nice big bath. I only took off a star because there was no window, though it wasn’t a huge issue. The location’s great too, about a 20 minute walk to arndale. Brianna at the front desk was the real highlight. I’d put her service at 10 stars. I’d put the wrong dates into booking.com, and when the hotel’s rate came up triple what I could afford, I was ready to give up. Brianna managed to change the dates so I paid the same price, and I got a refund from booking.com. After a really stressful few months, this was my only weekend with my daughter before Christmas because I work every weekend. Her kindness brought me to tears. My daughter says you’re the best, Brianna ♥️ I’ll be back, and I’ll make sure I book the right dates next time. Thanks again!

Rick at the front desk was a great help when we had a problem with our key, and even upgraded us. He was lovely to chat with and answered our questions about manchester. We had a great stay. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and there are lots of shops and restaurants within a ten minute walk. We’d stay again.

The lobby makes a good first impression, with a pleasant lounge, free coffee machine, and snacks and microwave meals available to heat up. Check-in was easy, and the receptionist was friendly and welcoming. Parking is £15 for 24 hours, similar to many hotels now, and checkout at 11 was straightforward with a key drop box. The room was very spacious, but the bed was smaller than a standard double and really uncomfortable. There were only two pillows. The TV was tiny and far from the bed, hard to see if you have sight issues, and had only basic channels, no Netflix, YouTube or smart features. There was a large window with a blind and a decent desk. The separate toilet and bathroom were clean and modern, but the carpet was old, dirty and stained, and the bedside tables, lamps and sockets were dusty. The bathroom was mostly clean, though the shower pipe was very mouldy. Breakfast was included, but I’d give it one star. Most hot food looked undercooked, which worried me because I’m pregnant and didn’t feel safe eating it. The bacon looked raw and the sausages and hash browns were very pale. Only the eggs and beans looked properly cooked. The toaster was slow and ineffective, as is fairly common in hotels. There were cereals, muffins, pastries and juice, and the orange juice was probably the best thing. I’d rate this as a decent 3-star stay, not a 4-star hotel as advertised. The rooms fall short on comfort, cleanliness and amenities, even though they’re large. If it had been sold as a 3-star place, I’d have been much happier. It’s a non-budget 3-star experience.

Tessa at reception was the standout for my wife and me. She was so dedicated and helpful, friendly, and made us feel welcome. She even helped us with the RAC security registration while we were dealing with a breakdown and arranging a replacement hire car. Eathan was friendly too, saying we should never be strangers and that he’d be glad to help with questions or problems. The hotel’s well placed for walking into the centre, and its own car park is £15 a day, which is good value. We liked the system for getting frozen microwave meals, snacks and drinks, especially when tired. Our room was a good size, the TV was good, and the bathroom was clean. The bed seemed comfortable. The only thing I think was missing was the sink plug. Gareth's pictures in an earlier review matched our room. All good. We had an enjoyable stay and couldn’t recommend the hotel more, especially because they seem to hire great people.
