Customer service was an absolute shambles. The property was advertised on booking.com as pet friendly. I booked and paid, then got an email demanding an extra £35 or saying my dog couldn't stay in the room. I told them that fee wasn't mentioned in the booking description and that I couldn't pay it. I asked them to cancel, but they refused and told me to cancel through booking.com. I checked the booking terms there, and the reservation was non-refundable. What bothered me most was the stream of emails after I'd already said I was unhappy. They kept emailing even though I hadn't replied. I hope this review saves someone else from being conned out of money. Then they offered me the booking at a reduced fee of 20, so don't accept the £35. They're just trying it on.
My partner found this apartment for a long weekend in Salisbury, and I was impressed. It's close to the city centre on a quiet side street. There are no staff on site, and you get into the building and apartment with a five digit code. We had a minor issue when the code wouldn't work on the inside door. A phone call to their London offices got it fixed remotely within a minute. There's no parking on site, but there's a car park across the road and other options within walking distance around town. We were delighted with the apartment, despite a few minor issues described below.
The room is drop-dead gorgeous, and the city location is prime. Still, the customer service was horrible, as Martin also said. The £100 deposit isn't clearly disclosed; it's tucked into a drop-down menu on the Booking.com page. They never replied to my messages on Booking or WhatsApp. Calling their landline was the only way I could reach them, and the screenshots below show the lack of communication. I don't know if we'll book here again next time we visit, though you might be fine with all that if you decide to stay.
I tried to book a night for myself and my two young children, aged 2-3, and paid £114.00. Only after paying did I learn there was another £100.00 charge for “damage cover,” refundable potentially 7 days after the stay, but only if no damage was found. Getting my £114.00 back was awful: I called customer service four times and they hung up on me. Absolutely disgusting service. Don't use these people under any circumstances. Scam, scam, scam.
