We spent the day in Salisbury and stayed overnight at the Old Mill hotel. The water meadows are right next door, with a fabulous view of the cathedral. Our room was a good size and lovely, with a nice river view from the window. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The bar had a nice look and feel, a good beer selection and good food. We had a lovely time.

We stopped in for breakfast, which was excellent: tasty local produce, cooked really well. The young man behind the bar was so friendly, even while handling two large walking parties who came in later for tea, coffee and cake. The chef brought our food, chatted with us, and was very funny. He also checked that we were happy with it. It's a beautiful pub beside the river Avon, in a lovely setting. We'll definitely come back for a few days' holiday. Highly recommended.

The staff made the stay feel special, warm and professional, and attentive without hovering. The value was exceptional for the quality. It felt like a real escape, whether for a relaxing break or a special occasion, and I can't recommend the place highly enough. The setting is lovely, and the Old Mill Hotel is a well-kept 900 year old mill, full of history and character. The building itself is worth a visit. A wonderful stay from start to finish.

We had Sunday lunch with the family and the food was excellent. My daughter in law is Vegetarian and loved the butternut squash risotto. My son and I shared the roast, and wow, we shouldn't have had breakfast. The beef was melt in the mouth.

We really enjoyed this place and would recommend stopping by as part of a walk along the river. It's a great spot for a quiet drink, very dog friendly, and there's a friendly dog behind the bar too. I hope to stay in the hotel one day just for the experience. The former mill is near the Meadows, famous for the great John Constable painting of the Cathedral, and has a river running alongside that's shallow enough for fishing. The lovely building has a tasteful mix of old and new inside. The restrooms were spotless, with immaculately clean tiled walls and floors.
