The Riverside Inn

The chef offered us homemade sauces, and I wish we'd tried them. My son and I stopped in Wednesday evening to eat and chat, ordering a Pepperoni pizza for me and a Hawaiian for him. The 12 inch pizzas were surprisingly filling, with rich tomato sauce and cheese right out to the edge, so there wasn't a huge bare crust. We’ll definitely be back.

The Korean chicken was amazing, and the kpop party peeps party was such a hit with my daughter. Face painting, bubbles, and loads of fun. Would definitely recommend.

Mel at reception was charming, welcoming, attentive and courteous. We loved our overnight stay in this cosy riverside place. The rooms were neatly kept and decorated for the occasion. The Christmas decorations were just right, not too much or too subtle.

The cold plates were the one letdown, since they made the food cool faster. Otherwise, the Sunday carvery was good value, with lovely service from the staff. I liked the gammon best, it tasted wonderful, and the beef was pink just how I like it. There was a really good range of well-cooked vegetables, plus sauces and nice gravy. We booked online that same day for 4pm, mainly for the carvery, and the restaurant wasn't very busy. We came for the food, not the accommodation, and look forward to returning.
