Parking in Scarborough can be tricky, with lots of double yellow lines and permit-only spots and only a few pay-and-display spaces. Here, Shelly can arrange permits for on-street parking, and there's also free parking in the adjacent car park. The place is up at the highest part of town, though, and there's no lift. It was clean and nicely kept, with a satisfactory room, Wi-Fi and a good hot shower. The quiet location is near the castle and has very good views. Shelly was friendly and welcoming.

The hill up to this little hotel was a surprise. If I'd known about it beforehand, I might have booked somewhere else and missed a place I really liked. My short stay was good, the welcome was very friendly, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was decent. I'd stay here again if I return to Scarborough.

There was on-site parking, which is handy in summer, and it was about a 10-minute walk to the open air theatre and 10 minutes downhill to the harbour. I was here for one night for a gig. My small top-floor room looked out over both the church and the sea, and was fine for a night. The bed felt too soft for me, but I still slept, and the shower was nice and hot. I was very happy with what I paid.

We had a fantastic Valentine's weekend here with my hubby. Shelly was a brilliant host, and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely and well presented, and the view was first class. Breakfast was excellent, too. The price was excellent, and we'd definitely book again. Thanks for a brilliant stay, Shelly.
