The house layout worked really well for our group of 18, and the setup was just what we needed. Still, we wouldn't use the hot tub because the back patio was dirty, covered in bird poo and cigarette butts, and clearly hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests. We didn't know when the tub itself had last been cleaned. Many in the group had been looking forward to it, so that was a shame. The main problem was the flies and smell. There were several flies on a window when we arrived Friday, and more kept appearing over the weekend. On Sunday, after we'd been out for the day, we came back to around 30 flies around the living and dining room windows and in the kitchen. Some areas smelled of sewage and dead animals. We couldn't find where the flies were coming from, but no windows had been left open, so the source must have been inside the property or in the gutters. Shower pressure was poor and the hot water was limited, so several people ended up taking cold showers. Parking was on the street and difficult at busy times. We were meant to get permits for 4/5 cars, but there weren't enough. We messaged the owner and got no reply. The house could be amazing, and I'd stay again if the fly infestation and sewage/dead animal smell were sorted, the water pressure and hot water improved, and the patio was cleaned properly for each new group.

I don't think this place is worth the money. It felt cramped and much smaller than it looks IRL, and it was poorly maintained. There were slugs getting in through damaged areas, spiders everywhere, and lights on sensors instead of proper switches you can turn on and off. The bed was broken too. When I first got to my room on Tuesday, I found yellow stains on the white sheets.

We stayed there this week and had no hot water, plus there were slugs in the bedroom. The owner Julie falsely claimed we'd broken a bed. My niece slept on it and complained that it dipped, but we didn't report it at the time because we didn't want the inconvenience for the owner. I wish we had. My legal team will be in touch, and the consequences of lying will be shown to the owner Julie.
