DRIVERS BEWARE. I paid a £60 parking penalty after deciding not to risk a £100 charge if an appeal failed. The situation was very unsatisfactory for a Premier Inn that offers free parking, and for future trips I'll use the Travelodge at Scunthorpe instead. I was staying at the Scunthorpe Premier Inn because of my parents' situation in a local Care Home, and had stayed there several times before. As usual, at check-in I filled out the paper from reception with my nationality and car registration. Nobody told me about any other step. A week or so later, a parking penalty arrived by post. When I phoned the hotel, I was told there was a new parking system: I had to enter my registration on a tablet, and there were several signs about it. I explained that I had checked in the same way as on earlier visits and the receptionist hadn't prompted me to use the tablet. They again pointed to the signs. I then complained through Premier Inn's online feedback form. Six days later, the only advice in their email was to contact the parking company directly, explain that I'd stayed at Premier Inn and give them the booking details. That wasn't the helpful response I hoped for.

There was plenty of parking, and our room was quiet, tidy and clean, with a comfortable bed and a shower. A few weeks earlier, I'd spoken with Sonia at Scunthorpe premier Inn and explained that my wife had a knee injury. Sonia arranged a room with a shower. When we arrived, the cheerful, friendly receptionist who helped us turned out to be Sonia. We had an excellent stay.

The beds were comfy and the room was clean, and we loved our stay. We were there for one night before our holiday, and the staff were amazing. They helped us get to the room with our suitcases and little girl, and were so polite. In the morning, it felt like a surprise party when we came out to reception and everyone said good morning and chatted with us. They loved our little girl and went the extra mile to help us with her and the pram. We couldn't fault the service. Thank you, premier inn Scunthorpe. We'll be staying again.

The room is amazing, though the carpet is outdated and makes me feel sick. Our receptionist, Syer, was incredible. She helped us check room availability, made great conversation and was such a friendly, caring person. I'd give her a raise myself!

I've been staying here for work for a few months. The rooms are always clean, and the staff are amazing. Special shout out to Kerrie and Sonia, nothing is too much trouble for them. ☺️
