The School House - Guest House

Joan and Andrew run this fabulous B&B just outside Seahouses in Northumberland. They're very pleasant hosts, and the establishment is clean and smart, in a quiet residential area about a 15-minute walk from the town centre. Joan makes a fabulous breakfast that sets you up for the day, with plenty of healthier options too. Both hosts know a lot about the local area, its history and amenities. Guests also get a discount on Andrew's boat trips. I'd happily stay again and recommend it highly. Many thanks!

We had a wonderful short break, including two full days of scuba diving. Joan was such a lovely hostess, and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the shower is hot, and there was a fridge stocked with ice-cold water for our whole stay. Breakfast was incredible, with gluten-free options as well. I can't recommend it highly enough.

A comfortable, clean place with a good-sized bedroom and a decent breakfast. It's a very friendly B&B, around a 10-15 minute walk from Seahouses centre and the harbour. The only downside was some sound coming through from the car park and corridor to the rooms, so it isn't the best soundproofing. But it wasn't a loud or busy place, and that wouldn't stop me staying again. I'd definitely recommend it for a short visit to the area.

Joan was an excellent host, and somehow made an amazing breakfast all on her own. The place was wonderfully clean and in excellent decorative order. There was a nice tea and coffee tray, a lovely en suite with instant hot water, and comfortable beds. Recommended.
