While hiking the southwest path, I’ve stayed at a number of hotels, inns, and bed and breakfasts in Devon, and this has been my favourite by far. The room was attractive and comfortable, and the shower worked properly, which hasn’t been true everywhere I’ve stayed. Breakfast was delicious too. The host and hostess are genuinely kind and lovely, and clearly want you to be comfortable and have what you need. I wish I’d booked another night in Beer.

We’re already looking forward to coming back. The room was comfortable, breakfast was lovely, and the breakfast staff were brilliant. When we found there was nowhere to eat on Sunday evening, the landlady went out of her way to help. She arranged a couple of pizzas from a local bistro that was about to close, then brought them herself to our room. WOW, fantastic!

We arrived yesterday and left the car in the long stay car park, about 3 mins away. I slept like a baby. Our twin room is compact, but really comfortable and well equipped: ensuite, TV, mini fridge, large wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside drawers, lamp, charging unit, full length mirror, shampoo, hand wash, towels, shower, basin, tea, coffee, sugar and a mini kettle. The bed was comfy, with lovely crisp white bedding. The location is great and it’s so quiet, though sadly there’s no view from our window. Off for breakfast shortly, and I’ve got high hopes!

This was our second stay, and Nette and Colin are brilliant hosts, warm and easy to talk to. They’re happy to help with anything. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped, and breakfast is wonderful. I’d highly recommend staying here, A+++

The landlady was very nice, and there’s a handy bus stop and corner shop right outside. The shop closes at 6pm, which is too early. The hotel itself is nice and quiet, and breakfast was good. I was given some complimentary jam, which was very nice. Just be aware you need to be fit to reach the upstairs rooms.
